Broncos Stadium Keeping Name Amid Search For Title Sponsor
The Broncos' home venue will "continue to be called Broncos Stadium at Mile High for the second consecutive year," according to Ryan O'Halloran of the DENVER POST. The Broncos are "searching for a long-term contract with a corporate sponsor" for the stadium's naming rights. Broncos President & CEO Joe Ellis said, "We continue to have discussions. ... I've been heavily interested and actually pretty heavily involved because it's the single most visible partner we have." Ellis: "This is a big deal and it's a long-term deal. You don't do this for 2-3 years and then pay for new signs." Ellis added, "What you have to look at is the viability of the company, what they stand for, where they fit into our community, how the public will respond to them (and) how much of a commitment they have to us and us to them. It's more complex than a simple two- or three-year sponsorship deal." He also said that if a naming-rights sponsor is found before or during this NFL season, he "'would think' the new company's signs could be assembled quickly" (DENVER POST, 7/19).
