Omni To Operate, Part-Own New Hotel At Vikings' Lake Campus

The hotel, expected to open late next year, will house Vikings players and staff starting with '21 training campOMNI HOTEL & RESORTS

Omni Hotels & Resorts will "operate and part-own the 14-story Nordic-themed hotel and conference center under construction at the Viking Lakes campus" in Eagan, Minn., according to Nick Ferraro of the ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS. The hotel is "well underway at nearly seven stories high and pegged to open late next year adjacent to the practice facility" at Vikings HQ. It will "house Vikings players and staff," starting with training camp in '21. It also will have a "restaurant, rooftop bar, spa and fitness center, 'grab-and-go' market and retail space." The hotel will feature "six two-story hospitality lounges that will be nearly 1,500-square feet with floor-to-ceiling windows and decked out with couches, TVs, a fireplace and kitchen for groups and meeting planners to use." About 25,000 square feet will be "set aside for an event center, two ballrooms and numerous meeting rooms" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 7/18). In Minneapolis, Rochelle Olson notes the hotel will "provide a base" for Vikings players and visiting fans during training camp. The team's complex was the "first part of a multiyear development planned" by Vikings co-Owners Mark, Zygi and Leonard Wilf under the aegis of MV Eagan Ventures. The hotel "marks the second phase of the development" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 7/18).
