Former 76ers investor ERICK THOHIR was among 10 new IOC members elected yesterday. Thohir is currently the Indonesian Olympic Committee President. Other new members include: former Costa Rica President LAURA CHINCHILLA; Credit Suisse CEO TIDJANE THIAM; and India Olympic Association President NARINDER BATRA. Two changes "were made to the 15-member IOC executive board: PRINCE FEISAL AL HUSSEIN of Jordan was elected to replace GUNILLA LINDBERG of Sweden, whose eight-year term ended." NAWAL EL MOUTAWAKEL of Morocco was "elected to join the board when WILLI KALTSCHMITT of Guatemala leaves in January" (AP, 6/26).

MAKING A DIFFERENCE: T'Wolves President of Basketball Operations GERSSON ROSAS was in Columbia this week for the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders camp in his home country. Having a camp in Colombia is a goal he has "worked to see come to fruition for a long time." Rosas said, "It’s one of the highlights of my career. I fought tooth and nail to get it here over the last eight years to see this vision come to reality. ... Colombia was finally ready with this opportunity, and it’s a special time. I couldn’t imagine missing it in any shape or form" (STARTRIBUNE.com, 6/26).

NAMES: Rockets Owner TILMAN FERTITTA is "looking to purchase casino property on the Las Vegas Strip that could be spun off from Eldorado Resorts’ acquisition of gaming giant Caesars Entertainment." Eldorado is "expected to sell some of Caesars’ nine Las Vegas Strip properties and other casinos around the country to avoid federal antitrust issues. Fertitta said he will "try to pick off one or two properties" (HOUSTONCHRONICLE.com, 6/26)....WFAN's BOOMER ESIASON has been elected to the New York State Broadcasters HOF (NEWSDAY.com, 6/26)....Baltimore Sun sports reporter KYLE ANDREWS tweeted that he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma: "The prognosis is very good though. I'm going to make it through this" (TWITTER.com, 6/26).
