CAA, Wasserman Lead Agencies In Selections On NBA Draft Night

CAA and Wasserman had the most picks in the first round of the NBA Draft in Brooklyn on Thursday night with four. Last year, BDA Sports Management had the most first-rounders with five. BDA and Priority Sports & Entertainment tied for second this year with three. Meanwhile, Klutch Sports Group and Roc Nation each represented two players in the first round. A total of 16 agencies represented first round picks. CAA’s Austin Brown repped No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson (Pelicans), and Tandem Sports and Entertainment’s Jim Tanner repped No. 2 pick Ja Morant (Grizzlies). No one was cheered for louder last night than the No. 3 pick, R.J. Barrett (Knicks), who is repped by BDA Sports Management’s Bill Duffy. Thursday night marked the fourth time in the last decade CAA has tied or lead in the first round. In the last 10 years, the best number for any agency was seven, accomplished by Excel Sports Management in '13 and Wasserman in '11.
