Audience Analysis: USWNT Strong With Second World Cup Match

Fox averaged a total audience delivery (TV+streaming) of 5.41 million viewers for the USWNT’s win over Chile on Sunday, marking the most-viewed FIFA Women’s World Cup group stage match on record in the U.S. It also is the most-watched English-language soccer match in the U.S. since Fox drew 13 million viewers for France-Croatia in the men’s World Cup final last year. U.S.-Chile on Sunday had an average minute audience of 84,000 viewers on Fox Sports Go, marking the second-most streamed WWC match on record. Meanwhile, Univision and Univision Deportes on Saturday averaged 2 million viewers for Mexico-Cuba in the men’s Concacaf Gold Cup. That game, combined with Canada-Martinique, helped Univision to its best start for the North American soccer tourney since ’11.
