U.S. Rout Of Thailand Most-Watched WWC Match To Date On Fox

The U.S.' 13-0 rout of Thailand is the most-viewed game to date for Fox/FS1 from this year's FIFA Women's World Cup in France, but it is down from the opener four years ago, when the tournament was held in Canada. Fox drew a total audience delivery of 2.72 million viewers (TV+streaming) for U.S.-Thailand, a drop of 18% from '15 when U.S.-Australia drew a TV-only audience of 3.31 million viewers on FS1. It is worth noting the '15 game aired in primetime on a Monday, compared to a Tuesday afternoon for U.S.-Thailand. Eight years ago, when the WWC was in Germany (a time zone difference similar to France), the first U.S. match against South Korea on a Tuesday afternoon drew 1.07 million viewers on ESPN.
