Buyers & Sellers: Roger Saffold Purchases Encino Home For $3.88M

Titans G ROGER SAFFOLD has bought a newly built home in Encino, Calif., for $3.88M. The Traditional-style two-story home "sits behind fences and gates on about a third of an acre." The mini-estate includes a "sports court, a putting green and a swimming pool with a spa." A cabana with a changing room and fireplace "sits across from the pool" (, 5/31)....Red Wings Exec VP & GM STEVE YZERMAN has listed his condo on Bayshore Boulevard in downtown Tampa for $1.695M. The 3,316-square-foot condo in The Bellamy complex has three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and "two covered terraces with views of the city skyline" (, 6/5)....Gold Medal-winning U.S. sprinter MICHAEL JOHNSON is selling his townhouse in Corte Madera, Calif., for $1.2M. The 1,690-square-foot home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It has been "newly remodeled and features high-vaulted ceilings, a large deck overlooking a grassy field and a two-car garage" (, 5/31).

WINDY CITY HOMES: Free agent WR BRANDON MARSHALL sold his condo in a historic Michigan Avenue building in Chicago for $3.2M, which is "less than he paid for it five years ago." The four-bedroom, 6,400-square-foot condo was sold at a price 18% below the $3.9M Marshall originally paid for it. The condo has "two separate outdoor rooftops, with a combined 2,500 square feet" (, 6/3)....Blackhawks RW ALEX DEBRINCAT in mid-April purchased a "gut-rehabbed" house in the Roscoe Village neighborhood of Chicago for $1.035M. The 3,700-square-foot, five-bedroom home has 3.5 baths and "hardwood floors, high ceilings, wainscoting, millwork, a family room with a gas fireplace and a kitchen with quartz countertops." It also has a "built-in breakfast nook, a walk-in pantry and a butler's pantry." Additionally, the house has a "private rooftop deck over a new, two-car garage" (, 5/30).

LANDLORD DREAMS: ALEX RODRIGUEZ has "picked up a 21-unit rental tower" in Manhattan's East Village. This marks his "first major real estate play in his adopted home town," as Rodriguez has previously been "dabbling in the Miami market for some time." For the East Village purchase, Rodriguez "partnered with NYC real estate veteran BARBARA CORCORAN, who founded one of the city's biggest brokerages and is now known for investing in business on ABC's 'Shark Tank.'" The duo "plans to aggressively build up a portfolio of multifamily buildings across the city" (, 6/2).
