The WNBA N.Y. Liberty will again call White Plains home this year, but C Tina Charles said it is "extremely important" to return to playing full time in N.Y. for the sake of the fan base there, according to Brian Heyman of NEWSDAY. Charles said, "Hopefully, the New York Liberty will be back in the city and they'll be able to have access to us." Heyman noted the Liberty "will play most of their regular-season games at the Westchester County Center for a second straight season," with two games being played at Barclays Center. However, a home arena for the Liberty beyond this season has "yet to be finalized." The Liberty averaged 1,886 fans in 15 games last season at the County Center, which has a capacity of 2,319 for their games. Charles "left no doubt" where she "wants the Liberty to ultimately put down roots." Charles: "Them moving us to Brooklyn and practicing and having us live in Brooklyn, that's definitely a hope factor that change will come" (NEWSDAY, 5/8).
