Sources: Disney Receives Final-Round Bids Of About $10B For RSNs

Disney "received final-round bids" of about $10B and above for the Fox RSNs, with groups represented by Liberty Media Chair John Malone and Sinclair Broadcast Group among those "vying for the assets," according to sources cited by Nabila Ahmed of BLOOMBERG NEWS. Sources said that Liberty is "teaming up" with MLB on its offer. The sources added that Ice Cube’s Big3 also has "made a bid." Disney’s bankers have suggested "spinning off the networks to shareholders, rather than selling them." However, sources said that the company has "remained committed to the auction" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 4/16). Meanwhile, in N.Y., Morgan & Kosman note the Department of Justice has called on representatives of the Big3 to a "meeting over accusations of dirty tricks" by Charter Communications. The meeting, scheduled for today, will be "held with the DOJ’s antitrust team" (N.Y. POST, 4/17).
