Executive Transactions

Team Penske VP/Marketing & Communications JONATHAN GIBSON has been promoted to Exec VP of Marketing & Business Development for Penske Corporation, which is the holding company overseeing ROGER PENSKE’s business empire. Gibson, who has been with Team Penske in Mooresville, N.C., since ’07, will still have oversight of Team Penske’s marketing and sales efforts but will relocate to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, this summer. Gibson, whose prior stops include MillerCoors, has been instrumental in building Penske’s corporate partner roster, which is seen as perhaps the strongest in motorsports with several longtime bluechip deals with the likes of Shell and Verizon. Gibson was also a member of the ’14 SBJ Forty Under 40 class. The team is still working through Gibson’s transition and it is not yet clear whether there will be a direct replacement for him at Team Penske (Adam Stern, THE DAILY).
