The Univ. of Texas has dubbed this weekend "Made in Austin" around its spring football game and other sporting events, and it will be a "virtual burnt-orange carnival designed to promote the athletic department and give fans a chance to experience that feeling of fall Saturdays here in mid-April," according to Brian Davis of the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN. The baseball team has a three-game series against Kansas State, the women's soccer team has two exhibition matches and the school will "stage 5K and 10K runs on Saturday morning through the campus." Admission to everything is free, "except for the baseball tickets since it's a regular-season game." After the spring game, there will also be a "concert by rapper Ludacris." UT Executive Senior Associate AD/External Affairs Drew Martin said that fans will receive the '19 football schedule poster for an "autograph session after the spring game," even though those typically are not released until August. Martin said that the school is already at a 95% "renewal rate for season tickets, which is about 54,500." The record was more than 60,000 for the '10 season (AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 4/12).
