Facility Notes

In Portland, Lindsey Wisniewski noted the Portland Diamond Project released new renderings showing the city's potential future ballpark with a "retractable roof, gondola suite, and centerfield and home-plate plazas, among other features." The capacity of the ballpark that would host an MLB team is expected to "seat between 32,000 and 34,000 fans" (NBCSPORTSNORTHWEST.com, 4/10).

MOVING IN: St. Louis-based investment bank ButcherJoseph & Co. "will be the second tenant in the 10-story Class A office building" included in Ballpark Village’s $260M expansion around Busch Stadium. Cardinals President Bill DeWitt III yesterday "made the announcement during a 'topping out' ceremony celebrating the final beam being put in place in the office building" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 4/10).

NEW & IMPROVED: As part of the Cavaliers' arena renovations and rebranding, the "wall of glass, which is on the north side of the building to reflect the downtown Cleveland skyline, will have Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse signage." The venue will also "have eight new public destination hospitality spaces and feature the latest in cutting-edge technology that will redefine the fan experience." There will be 279 wireless access points, 62 re-imagined suites, six new or re-imagined membership spaces and "more than 731 flat screen TVs" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 4/10).

MANAGER'S CHOICE: USL club Louisville City FC has picked AEG Facilities as the venue manager for its soccer-specific stadium being built. AEG will also provide the soccer club with "event content development, purchasing, vendor services, marketing and event-day operations" for the venue that is set to open next year. AEG also "provides event services" for the KFC Yum! Center. The soccer stadium "will fall under" AEG's Yum! Center GM Eric Granger (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 4/10).
