Franchise Notes

In San Jose, Curtis Pashelka noted while sellouts for Sharks home games at SAP Center this season "have hardly been routine, the team is anticipating that all tickets for at least the first two games" of its first round series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Golden Knights "will be snapped up soon." A team spokesperson said that "fewer than 1,000 tickets remain available for each of the first two games of the series," which begins April 10 (San Jose MERCURY NEWS, 4/6).

PATRIOT WAY: ESPN.com's Mike Reiss noted the Patriots are not raising ticket prices this season, and they "haven't done so in four of their past five Super Bowl championship seasons." Season-ticket holders "had a March 31 deadline for renewal," and a team spokesperson said that the renewal rate is over 99% for this year. Reiss: "Everyone, except for those on the waiting list, is coming out a winner here" (ESPN.com, 4/6).

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH: In Denver, Patrick Saunders wrote under the header, "Rockies Owner Dick Monfort Deserves Credit For First-Class Organization." Monfort has "invested more than money into the franchise," as the Colorado native has "put his heart and soul into the Rockies." The team "might not meet high expectations this season, but there is no denying that Monfort has invested in the team, the city and the state." He "deserves a tip of the ballcap" (DENVER POST, 4/7).
