MLB Marketing Notes: New Era Unveils Latest Campaign For '19

New Era launched its "We Reign as One" multi-platform campaign for the start of the '19 MLB season, with creative from 72andSunny, N.Y. The cap brand's '19 MLB ambassador roster now includes Dodgers 3B Justin Turner, Yankees SS Didi Gregorious, Brewers RF Christian Yelich, Indians SS Francisco Lindor, Braves LF Ronald Acuna Jr., with Astros 2B Jose Altuve and Cubs 2B Javier Baez returning this year as endorsers. Rapper Jay Rock is also part of the campaign. The ambassadors will help highlight special occasions such as Mother's and Father's Day (New Era).

BIG BAT, BIG TASTE: Pepsi marked the return of its "Judge for Yourself" campaign around Aaron Judge by transforming Vanderbilt Hall inside Grand Central Terminal into the "Judge's Chambers," an area where fans tested their own bat speed against that of the Yankees RF (66.1 mph). Former Yankees players Tino Martinez, Bernie Williams, and Paul O'Neill were in attendance (Pepsi).

LISTEN UP: In San Diego, Diane Bell noted Padres broadcaster Jesse Agler is "about to get a lot more exposure," as an animated figure in Sony's "MLB The Show 19" video game "bears Agler's image." The game has "another Padres link," as its in-game announcer is Padres PA voice Alex Miniak (SANDIEGOUNIONTRIBUNE.com, 3/27).

PASS THE CHIPS: Utz announced the debut of specially-marked Utz Original and Ripple Potato Chips highlighting all 30 MLB clubs on the packaging (Utz).
