A Day In The Life With NASCAR, ISC Exec VP Craig Neeb

NASCAR and ISC Exec VP/Chief Innovation & Development Officer CRAIG NEEB is a busy man in the racing industry. Having been with ISC for 19 years, he took on the NASCAR role last year to lead initiatives focused on things such as esports, OTT strategy and sports betting. Living on the Intracoastal Waterway in Ormond Beach, Fla., Neeb enjoys taking his grandson out on the boat in search of red fish, snook or trout. Neeb was able to take some time out of his schedule to walk THE DAILY through what a typical day looks like for him.

5:15am: The first thing I do is check over my emails from overnight. Then I get myself ready to go to Gold’s Gym where I like to run on the treadmill. I try to get four miles in every other day. On the days I’m not running I try to do some weight lifting. For me that’s a good time of day to really think about what’s coming up. Then I'll get home and get changed and have a little breakfast before heading to the office.

7:30am: I get to the office in Daytona Beach and start to really focus on what things I need to prepare for. It’s also a time when I sit with the ISC leadership team. I'll meet with ISC Exec VP & COO JOIE CHITWOOD, Exec VP & CMO DARYL WOLFE and Exec VP & CFO GREG MOTTO to catch up informally on things that might be going on.

8:30am: NASCAR President STEVE PHELPS holds a leadership meeting, which has all the key leaders across all the different functional disciplines get together. The focus in that meeting is to talk about the prior weekend’s key metrics from the race. We talk about viewership, attendance and the quality of the race itself. Then there is an opportunity for all the leaders to highlight any key things that came out of the weekend.

9:30am: There is a standing meeting every week with the 704Games group and Race Team Alliance to talk about our newly formed eNASCAR Heat Pro league. That is where myself, Race Team Alliance Exec Dir JONATHAN MARSHALL, 704Games President COLIN SMITH and NASCAR VP/Digital Media TIM CLARK circle up and talk about some key activities that are coming up. We just held our first Draft ever out at ISM Raceway in Phoenix, which was highly successful. Now we are already in the planning process for our first event which will be in late May in Charlotte.

12:00pm: I usually walk out to One Daytona for lunch to visit one of the restaurants we have. I helped get One Daytona off the ground along with a great team so I like to get out to the property at least once a day. I walk around and talk to some of the tenants and grab a bite to eat. I’m a big fan of Oklahoma Joe’s barbecue.

1:00-5:00pm: Throughout the afternoon I will have various meetings including things on the ISC side, to MRN meetings, to Racing Electronics, which is a business we recently acquired. I will also have meetings about sports betting on the NASCAR side. There is a lot going on in that area and we’re excited about the future. I’m working with NASCAR VP/Global Media Strategy & Distribution BRIAN HERBST and his team to further that discussion.

5:00-6:30pm: I start to wrap up my day and get caught up on any emails and then head home. On my rides home I like to reach out to family and friends that I don’t get to speak to very often and touch base with them.

7:00pm: I am the cook in the family. It’s just my wife and I at home right now. We have kids, but they’re adults. So since it's usually just the two of us at dinner, I will go the grocery store and figure out what I am in the mood for. Once we sit down for dinner it’s right about time for “Jeopardy!" We like to answer questions back and forth and enjoy seeing how many we can get right.

8:30pm: After dinner I typically try to get caught up on any late work. After that my wife and I will watch a couple TV shows. We are big Netflix fans. We like “Narcos: Mexico,” it’s the most recent series we’ve been watching.

10:00pm: I try to get to bed by this time every night so I am able to get up at 5:15am again the next morning.
