Thunder Deal Means All 30 NBA Teams Have Jersey Sponsors

The Thunder have signed a jersey patch sponsorship with Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, a deal that now puts ads on all 30 NBA teams. The Thunder had been the last team to secure a jersey deal since the program was rolled out by the league for the '17-18 season. The team will begin wearing the patch Saturday night during a nationally televised game on ABC against the Warriors. Other elements of the patch deal include media and social media as well as a community service component (John Lombardo, THE DAILY). In Oklahoma City, David Dishman reports it is a "four-year agreement" through the '22-23 season. The deal is a "continuation of a longstanding relationship" between Love's and the Thunder. Love's has partnered with the team since it moved to Oklahoma City in '08, and company founders Tom and Judy Love "can be seen courtside at many home games." The company already has "naming rights to Love's Loud City and the Love's Kiss Cam" inside Chesapeake Energy Arena. Love's VP/Communications Jenny Love Meyer estimated that the company "would have to spend 'tens of millions of dollars' ... to gain the same level of national exposure through traditional TV advertising" (OKLAHOMAN, 3/15).
