Fox Hires Urban Meyer, Reggie Bush For Revamped CFB Studio Show

Fox will roll into the '19 college football season with a new studio show in an effort to emulate the success it has had with its NFL and MLB pregame shows. Urban Meyer and Reggie Bush will sit alongside Matt Leinart and Brady Quinn on an hour-long show that is scheduled to run Saturdays before the 12:00pm ET game on the Fox broadcast network. Rob Stone will continue hosting the pregame show, which last year featured Leinart alongside Robert Smith and Dave Wannstedt. “When I looked at our college show, I felt like we weren’t where Fox could get to,” said Fox Sports National Networks President Mark Silverman. “We can make the case that college football weekends start on Fox.” The net has had trouble making in-roads against ESPN’s popular "College GameDay” show. Fox plans to take the show on the road at least four times in '19, following the same formula that has made “GameDay” successful. When it is not on the road, the show will be shot from Fox’ L.A.-based studio. Silverman said that the college football pregame show will emulate Fox’s NFL and MLB studio shows with analysts that are entertaining and informative. None of them have worked together before, Silverman said. “But they all know each other. We’re really going to try to tap into what each of them can bring to the table individually.” Quinn has spent five seasons calling games for Fox Sports; Leinart has been with Fox since ’13.
