Barbasol Extends As Title Sponsor For Kentucky PGA Tour Event

Barbasol signed a five-year extension as title sponsor of Kentucky's PGA Tour event, "securing its future at Keene Trace Golf Club’s Champions course" through '23, according to Beth Musgrave of the LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER. Keene Trace LLC, the new host organization, has hired Global Golf Management to "manage the tournament." Bryan Pettigrew has been named the new Tournament Dir. He stepped down as Breeders' Cup Senior VP/Marketing & Sponsorship last month (LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER, 3/7).

PUT IT IN THE BANK: Wells Fargo Regional President Kendall Alley said that the PGA Tour Wells Fargo Championship is "moving closer to an extension" to stay at Charlotte's Quail Hollow Club. In Charlotte, Erik Spanberg noted talks "started last year between the PGA Tour, Quail Hollow and Wells Fargo." Alley said that the "main issue yet to be resolved is where the PGA Tour event would be relocated" in '21, the year Quail Hollow will host the Presidents Cup. Wells Fargo spends $10-12M as tournament title sponsor, including "companion advertising purchased as part of the national TV broadcast on Golf Channel and CBS" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 3/6).
