The White Sox and Goose Island Beer Company are "teaming up to create a special section dubbed 'The Goose Island' in the right field bleachers of Guaranteed Rate Field," a move that "expands the presence" of the company inside the ballpark, according to Satchel Price of the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES. The new space, which is set to open for the '19 season, will include "running water fixtures on all four sides to create the 'island' of beer and baseball." The first few rows of the section will also "provide a 'modernized' game day experience with cushioned seats, device charging ports, television screens and more." The section will have a "total of 326 seats" (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 1/29). In Chicago, Phil Thompson notes the section affects two outfield sections and will feature "field-level views, leather seats in the first few rows, in-seat service" and party areas. The company also "received naming rights to the bar area next to the visiting bullpen" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/29).
