Longtime NFL Giants Exec VP & CMO MIKE STEVENS is resigning, effective Thursday. Stevens, who has been with the team for 13 years, said he had no immediate plans, beyond watching more of his son’s sports competitions. He said, “I’m truly grateful for my time at the Giants, but I’m excited to seek new opportunities and challenges" (Terry Lefton, THE DAILY).

UNION STATION: The MLBPA promoted CHRIS DAHL to Communications Dir and named former ESPN baseball writer JERRY CRASNICK to the newly created position of Senior Advisor of Player, Agent & Media Relations. The union also promoted GRETCHEN MUELLER to Managing Dir of Digital Media & Creative Strategy and named ANTHONY SOLIS Communications Coordinator (MLBPA).

LION'S SHARE: Orlando City SC has hired PEDRO FRANKLIN DE ARAUJO as its Senior VP/Marketing & Brand. Araujo was previously an Account Dir for Octagon, where for the last two years he has worked closely with MLS and U.S. Soccer on partnership marketing activations for sponsors (Ian Thomas, THE DAILY).

EXECS: Pittsburgh Marathon CEO PATRICE MATAMOROS is leaving the organization after this year's May 5 race. She will be replaced by Senior VP/Partnerships & Sales TROY SCHOOLEY. Matamoros' tenure has "been a decorated one." She "led efforts to revive the race" in '09 after it had "been defunct" since '03 (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 1/25)....SEC Network promoted CHRIS TURNER to VP/Programming & Acquisitions (SEC Net)....The Blue Jays named longtime Toronto Star baseball columnist RICHARD GRIFFIN Dir of Baseball Media (TWITTER.com, 1/25)....Staples Center and Microsoft Theater named Cavaliers VP/Event Booking HALLIE YAVITCH VP/Booking. Staples Center and Microsoft Theater also promoted the following: IGNACIO GUERRA to VP/Operations & Parking; BILL GARNER to Senior Dir of Parking; ARMEN DEMBEKJIAN to VP/Event Production; WENDY FUNES to Senior Dir of Booking; and CHRISTINA MIKHAIL to Senior Manager of Booking & VIP Services (Staples Center)....Longtime SI editor RICHARD DEMAK left the magazine after nearly three decades, most recently serving as senior editor and the chief of reporters. Demak has become an editor for the law firm of O'Melveny & Myers (FOLIOMAG.com, 1/28).
