Media Notes

It is not quite a megacast, but ESPN will produce an alternate telecast around Saturday’s Virginia-Duke game for ESPN+. The streaming service will carry a “Player Iso Cam” feed that will be focused on a single player. The specific player being focused on will change during the game. It could be Duke F Zion Williamson some plays or Virginia G Kyle Guy on others. ESPN’s Rece Davis, Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams will provide commentary for the ESPN+ feed. The game tips off at 6:00pm ET (John Ourand, THE DAILY).

JACOBS' LADDER: Canelo Alvarez has agreed to fight Daniel Jacobs on May 4, and DAZN will "broadcast the fight." It is "believed the deal includes an agreement between Jacobs and DAZN executives on exclusive streaming rights to Jacobs' fights" (L.A. TIMES, 1/18). Jacobs was a "broadcast free agent with HBO getting out of boxing." He also has signed a three-fight deal to stay with Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn (ESPN.com, 1/17).

IN THE ROUGH: In N.Y., Keith Kelly reports the Golf Digest sales process has "attracted the interest" of Discovery and "several other bidders." However, sources said that it is "still months away from a deal." Meanwhile, Golf Digest is "struggling to come up with advertisers as parent company Condé Nast continues to seek a buyer." In the February issue that hit this week, 10 of the 26 ad pages "come from other Condé Nast brands" (N.Y. POST, 1/18).
