Golden Knights Using Prime Billboard Spots To Promote Brand

In addition to the billboard next to the Raiders stadium, the Golden Knights also have one on I-215alan snel

The Golden Knights have "landed a prime billboard location next to the Raiders stadium construction site" to promote the hockey team's “Vegas Born” mantra in '18-19, according to Alan Snel of LVSPORTSBIZ.com. In addition to the billboard next to the Raiders stadium, the Golden Knights also have one on I-215 that team CMO Brian Killingsworth called "innovative" for its use of "gold spangles so when the sun sets in the West it reflects on the board, giving a sense of motion to the otherwise fixed board." Killingsworth said, "We work with our media buyer to identify new potential locations for our messaging and these boards were the two best locations that became available to us at the right time." He added, “Billboards definitely supplement our overall media mix and are great tools to showcase your brand." Killingsworth said that the Golden Knights are "big believers in disruptive advertising." He noted the team during last year's Stanley Cup Playoffs worked with local outdoor advertising company Kre-8 to "utilize an innovative out of home concept of [RW] Reilly Smith shooting a puck through the Caesars Palace tower." They also worked with the New York-New York Las Vegas Hotel & Casino to "put a Golden Knights jersey" on its Lady Liberty statue. Killingsworth: "We are constantly on the lookout for new and innovative ways to showcase our brand that no one has thought of yet and will look to do more of that as the season progresses" (LVSPORTSBIZ.com, 12/27).

STILL IN DEMAND: Snel noted the Golden Knights played their final home game of '18 Thursday night against the Avalanche, drawing a "massive crowd of 18,505 -- the second-year franchise’s second highest regular season attendance" (LVSPORTSBIZ.com, 12/27).
