Franchise Notes

In Las Vegas, Alan Snel noted average attendance for the Golden Knights through 14 home games is 18,292, "filling T-Mobile Arena to 105.3 percent of capacity." That is tied with the Wild for "second highest" in the NHL behind the Blackhawks. The crowd size is "impressive this season because hockey capacity is 17,367 for Golden Knights games" and attendance is "consistently more than 18,200 a game" (LVSPORTSBIZ.com, 12/20).

LIVING LARGE: BUSINESS INSIDER's Scott Davis noted Warriors F Andre Iguodala was on author Christopher Lochhead's "Follow Your Different" podcast, where he said that the "off-court perks of playing with the Warriors make it like a 'fantasy land.'" Iguodala said that when he was with the 76ers, the team had a "travel budget, which meant choosing between nice hotels and less-nice hotels in some cities." However, with the Warriors, Iguodala said that it is "all nice hotels on an unlimited budget, with plentiful meals and catering" (BUSINESSINSIDER.com, 12/20).

GRITTY REBOOT: SPORTSNET.ca's Elliotte Friedman noted the Flyers hiring President of Business Operations Valerie Camillo, who has a "very good reputation," is the kind of move that, "especially in-season, is a sign that an organization isn't thrilled." The "pressures on the Flyers aren't just on the ice" (SPORTSNET.ca, 12/20).
