Orioles Expand HQ Space In Effort To Grow Ticket Sales, Sponsorships
The Orioles are "expanding in the Warehouse at Camden Yards as the team looks to bolster its ticket sales and corporate sponsorship efforts," according to Holden Wilen of the BALTIMORE BUSINESS JOURNAL. The Orioles will "occupy an additional 6,000 square feet" in the warehouse under a "three-year lease approved by the Maryland Stadium Authority board on Tuesday." MSA CFO David Raith "described the lease as 'very short term' as the Orioles look to quickly embark on a strategy to generate more revenue" under team COO John Vidalin. The Orioles plan to "establish a new sales center in the space that will focus on ticket sales, premium sales and corporate partnership efforts." The space will also "house the Orioles' expanded business analytics and data group." The Orioles operate their front office and operations "out of the 119-year-old warehouse." With the new lease, the 430,000-square-foot building will have "just 17,000 square feet vacant, including a 10,000-square-foot space" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 12/5).
