Canucks Seeing Increase In Fan Satisfaction At Home Games

Elias Pettersson is a bright spot for the Canucks and could help bring buzz back to the teamGETTY IMAGES

The Canucks last month saw the "highest 'voice of fan' score in the last four years, a measure of fan satisfaction on things beyond just the game itself, like contests, food and activities that feature during breaks in play," according to Patrick Johnston of the Vancouver PROVINCE. The Canucks "collect the data through post-game surveys they send to some season ticket holders and single game ticket buyers." Friday's 7-6 OT win, where Canucks C Elias Pettersson "dazzled again," was yet another "point of positivity for a franchise that’s been desperately lacking in positive points." However, the "buzz" still is not back, as there are "many empty seats" at Rogers Arena. Johnston: "You wonder, if there were another home game right after Friday’s gem, would there have been an immediate rush for tickets?" After Friday, the Canucks "headed out on a six game road trip, and they play nine of their next 11 games away." The "chase is now on to get bums in seats -- and that project actually has a bright light to wave in front of the ticket-buying public." TSN Radio Vancouver 1040’s Tom Mayenknecht said that when a team has "short-term success, there can be a payoff." He added, "It could result in bigger walk-ups for individual game sales. ... That’s the ultimate goal for the Canucks: To continue to repatriate season-ticket holders who’ve fallen off since 2012, and especially since 2013-2014" (Vancouver PROVINCE, 11/5).
