ISC, FanVision Entertainment Strike Deal For At-Track Devices

ISC has acquired Racing Electronics from Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross' FanVision Entertainment, giving the track operator control of a key part of the motorsports race day experience. Financial terms were not revealed. FanVision bought Racing Electronics in '15. The company makes the two-way scanner radios and handheld video devices that fans and teams use to get an added layer of info about a given race including audio of team radios and extra video angles. ISC will formally take control on Jan. 1 and Racing Electronics' leadership and nearly 70-person staff will remain intact. FanVision and Racing Electronics, the latter of which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in '19, also have varying official deals with F1, IndyCar and NHRA, among others. ISC has been looking to increase sales and rentals of Racing Electronics products for its events, and buying Racing Electronics will give the track operator direct control of those efforts instead of merely partnering with the company. ISC Managing Dir of Broadcast & Integrated Marketing Chris Schwartz and Racing Electronics President of Motorsports Chad Willis helped negotiate the deal.
