NFL Marketing Notes: Patriots Add To Catchphrase Trademark Filings

USA TODAY's Lorenzo Reyes noted the Patriots have "submitted two trademark filings" for the catchphrase “AWWW YEAH.” The filings were submitted for various clothing items and “entertainment services.” The catchphrase has mostly been said "behind the closed doors of the locker room in the moments after victories." The team throughout the years has "asked various people to lead the postgame speech, but the 'AWWW YEAH' catchphrase has remained after every victory" (USATODAY.com, 10/19).

GHOST TOWN: In Las Vegas, Ron Kantowski noted there are three official Raiders team shops in the area, and at the Fashion Show Mall in Town Square location last week, about "half the inventory was marked down" at least 30%. That is because "about half the inventory was Khalil Mack jerseys and gear, and nobody wants those" after his trade to the Bears. There also was "virtual solitude" while browsing the store (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 10/21).

SHAQ ATTACK: In Florida, Jason Dill noted Seahawks LB Shaquem Griffin has his "first bobblehead" via the National Bobblehead HOF & Museum that captures the moment he was selected in the '18 Draft (BRADENTON HERALD, 10/20).
