Legal experts said the NFL most likely paid more than $4M to induce the Seaus to drop their caseGETTY IMAGES

The family of late Pro Football HOFer JUNIOR SEAU has "reached a settlement with the NFL, ending a six-year legal standoff." The family reached a "confidential settlement with the league for an undisclosed sum." While the terms of the deal are confidential, legal experts said that Seau's "prominence as a player and the circumstances of his death most likely led the league to pay more" than $4M to "induce the Seaus to drop their case" (N.Y. TIMES, 10/6).

STRIVING FOR GREATNESS: California-based VR outfit Strivr has raised $16M in funding, and GreatPoint Ventures "led the round" (FORTUNE.com, 10/5). The NFL's 32 Equity arm also invested in Strivr last year (THE DAILY).

NAMES: Celtics assistant coach JEROME ALLEN "plead guilty" last week in U.S. District Court to "accepting an $18,000 bribe" from the parent of a prospective Penn student in '14, when Allen was the school's basketball head coach.
