KBME Leads Houston Sports Radio Stations In September

The sports radio audience levels in Houston "held steady or increased slightly" in the September ratings book, according to David Barron of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. KBME-AM "led the sports stations in all-day weeklong listenership," topping KILT-AM and KFNC-FM. KBME also "led in morning drive (6:00-10:00am CT), midday (10:00am-3:00pm) and afternoon drive (3:00-7:00pm), and KILT led at night." During "prime listening hours" from 6:00am-7:00pm, KBME "led KILT" among men 25-54, with KFNC slightly behind KILT. Sports programming accounted for 5.9% of "weeklong listenership among men 25-54, the primary demographic for sports radio." The stations accounted for 3.5% of the "weeklong audience among all listeners age 6 or older, the broadest demographic measured by Nielsen Audio" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 10/5).
