Media Notes

The Stars "extended their broadcast agreement" with KTCK-FM through the '23-24 season. KTCK has been broadcasting Stars games since '09. Josh Bogorad and Daryl Reaugh will "serve as the play-by-play and color commentator" on both the radio and television this season. Bruce LeVine and Owen Newkirk will "host the pregame, intermission and postgame radio shows" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 9/28).

TRAVELLING STICK TALK: NBCSN's pregame show "NHL Live" will "hit the road to provide on-site 'Wednesday Night Hockey' coverage from nine cities over the course of the regular season." The "first stop is Capital One Arena" for Bruins-Capitals Oct. 3, which is when the Capitals will "raise their Stanley Cup banner." By taking the show on the road, NBC Sports Senior Producer John McGuinness said the net hopes to "capture the chaos, excitement and hockey-crazed fandom" of NHL fans across the country (WASHINGTON POST, 9/28).

BETTING MORATORIUM: The topic of gambling has "been almost completely absent" on NFL game telecasts this season. Sources said that the "moratorium" on sports betting talk through Week 3 also "extends to NFL pregame shows" and weekday NFL programming. Given the "rapid legalization of sports betting," some of the league's TV partners "thought the league might relax or even eliminate its long-time restrictions on talent talking about betting lines and point spreads" (SPORTINGNEWS.com, 9/27).
