Magic Chair Dan DeVos has "made it clear" that his family "intends to keep" the franchise following the recent death of his father Rich DeVos, according to Josh Robbins of the ORLANDO SENTINEL. DeVos said, "We have no desire to get rid of the team at all -- it's just not discussed. ... We plan to keep the team around and enjoy Orlando." Robbins noted the DeVos family "have owned the Magic" since Rich DeVos bought the team in '91. Dan DeVos said of the franchise, “It does what Dad originally bought the team for: to give the family something to rally around, something to have fun at, something to enjoy as a family. And it really has been a rallying point for the family" (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 9/25).
