Capitals LW NATHAN WALKER, C CHANDLER STEPHENSON and RW BRETT CONNOLLY were "among those in attendance" (WASHINGTON POST, 9/22).

THE GOOD STUFF: CAA Social Impact division co-Head JUDEE ANN WILLIAMS was elected to international humanitarian organization Save the Children's BOT, one of the 32 members on the board. At CAA, Williams works with public and private sector companies to develop, implement and market philanthropic and social responsibility initiatives (THE DAILY)....Giants President & CEO JOHN MARA made an appearance Friday night at Jaguars Exec VP/Football Operations TOM COUGHLIN's annual Jay Fund Champions for Children Gala at Cipriani in Midtown. The night "marked the Jay Fund Foundation’s 14th year of providing support to families tackling childhood cancer in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 9/22)....Vikings WR ADAM THIELEN and wife CAITLIN last week launched their eponymous foundation by "shining a spotlight" on children’s mental health issues with an initial $100,000 "pledge to pediatric behavioral health" at the Univ. of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 9/23).

NAMES: A current Nike employee has “joined the plaintiffs in a sexual discrimination class-action lawsuit” against the company. MEGHAN GRIEVE has worked at Nike since ’08, and earlier this month was promoted to Global Visual Presentation Manager of its Nike Women unit. Grieve in her court filing said she has "been paid less than male Nike employees for substantially equal work.” Her salary has “ranged from $74,275 to $80,730.” Last week it was “bumped to $88,000.” Grieve claims that Nike “paid a male colleague in the same job a starting annual salary of $100,000 that's since increased to $103,000” (Portland OREGONIAN, 9/22)....Hornets Owner MICHAEL JORDAN and wife YVETTE PRIETO over the weekend were "spotted at a power dinner" at Scarpetta in Manhattan with Lakers President JEANIE BUSS, Celtics Managing Partner WYC GROUSBECK and Bucks co-Owner WES EDENS (NYPOST.com, 9/22)....Author MARK LEIBOVICH along with CARL HULSE, MARK MAZZETTI and other N.Y. Times colleagues hosted a book party Friday night at WeWork, on G Street, in honor of Leibovich’s “BIG GAME: THE NFL IN DANGEROUS TIMES,” which debuted at #11 on the N.Y. Times bestseller list (POLITICO.com, 9/22)....DWYANE WADE’s D Wade Cellars Winery in ’17 shipped 2,100 cases of wine to China, “accounting for $600,000 in sales” or around 85% of the winery’s total. But D Wade Cellars has now “left the Chinese market, following an escalating trade war between the U.S. and China.” JAMIE WATSON, a partner at the winery, said, “It’s killed our market for it. Our $35 bottle of wine in the U.S. turns into a $100 bottle over there.” The company is “now shifting to sell more wine in the U.S. and Canada.” Watson hopes to “return to China eventually,” but he said that the “brand’s exposure in China is dropping every day it’s gone from the market” (SFGATE.com, 9/22).
