Franchise Notes

In Cleveland, Joey Morona noted Browns QB Baker Mayfield is "having an impact on the secondary ticket market." Vivid Seats said that "traffic from fans looking to buy seats" to the next home game on Oct. 7 against the Ravens is up about 200% since the Browns beat the Jets on Thursday night. The "median listed ticket price" is up nearly 50% from $94 to $139, and on Ticketmaster, "prices in the nosebleed sections start at $63" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 9/22).

CHANGING OF THE GUARD: In Baltimore, Eduardo Encina wrote this offseason "will be a busy one" for the Orioles. Team officials will be "determining the futures of many within the organization" -- most notably manager Buck Showalter and Exec VP/Baseball Operations Dan Duquette -- while also "contemplating whether this is the ideal time to restructure the infrastructure of the baseball operations department." John and Louis Angelos have "assumed decision-making control of the team" from their father, Owner Peter Angelos. While the Angelos sons were "involved in the hirings of Duquette and Showalter," seven and eight years ago, respectively, they will have "much more influence this time around" (BALTIMORE SUN, 9/22).

HART-SHAPED BOX SCORE? In Boston, Nick Cafardo reported 70-year-old former Braves President of Baseball Operations John Hart is on the "list of candidates" linked to the Mets' and Orioles' GM jobs. Hart "appears to have it in him to run one more team" (BOSTON GLOBE, 9/23).
