Renovated Sun Devil Stadium To Host Many Non-Football Events

Arizona State's newly renovated Sun Devil Stadium will "kick off a series of non-football events, like concerts, yoga and movies, in October," according to Rachel Leingang of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC. As part of the renovations, ASU has said that it "wants to expand how it uses the stadium to make it a year-round venue." To this end, ASU 365 Community Union will be the "new name for the extended uses of the stadium." ASU said that the year-round use of the venue "plays into its status as the most innovative university in the country." ASU VP/Cultural Affairs Colleen Jennings-Roggensack said, "We want to create a place where you can imagine Sun Devils of all ages starting their day with yoga on the Coca-Cola Sun Deck or a breakfast meeting at a café and ending their day with a film festival or concert under the stars." The idea is for the community to "not only think of football when they think of Sun Devil Stadium" (AZCENTRAL.com, 9/18).
