In Ottawa, Vito Pilieci noted hats with "#Melnykout" stitched on them for Senators Owner Eugene Melnyk are "flying off a local shop's shelves." Sportswear store The Clubhouse Owner Chris Torti said that since the news of D Erik Karlsson's trade, "demand for his #Melnykout baseball-style caps has skyrocketed." Torti: "I've sold more Melnyk hats already (since Thursday) than I have Senators hats over the past four months." Torti uses a "special machine to design and produce custom embroidered hats, sweaters and apparel" (OTTAWA CITIZEN, 9/15).

SUGAR OR SALT: AD AGE's Megan Graham noted Ritas, A-B InBev's line of flavored sparkling margaritas, is "targeting female football fans this season with a series of campaigns across TV, digital and social channels." In a spot called "Hail Berry," the brand tapped former NFLer Matt Leinart to "announce the brand's fall flavor, Berry-A-Rita." The spot "runs during NFL programming until later this month." Ritas also "tapped Funny or Die for a short webisode series showing the Ritas selecting their teams for a football pool" (ADAGE.com, 9/14).

FASHION FUN: The WALL STREET JOURNAL's Lauren Ingram noted the clothes at Gucci's fall '18 show in Italy were "littered with Yankees logos." One piece was a topcoat with the "NY" emblem on the front which cost $5,500. The partnership between Gucci and MLB includes "licensed slippers and scarfs." Other pieces at the fall show referenced the Pirates and Angels (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 9/15).
