NFL Names & Faces: Cousins Makes National Ad Debut For Sleep Number

New NFL sponsor Sleep Number will break a football-themed spot next week, the first national ad for new Vikings QB Kirk Cousins. He and his wife will tout the values of the company’s 360 Smart Bed, on and off the field. Ad agency PMH was the creative shop. Sleep Number’s NFL media buy is in and out of sports programming and includes ads on NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox and several major cable outlets, including NFL Network. The campaign is not limited to sports outlets or audiences (Terry Lefton, Editor-at-Large).

NEW FASHION ICON: In Green Bay, Kendra Meinert notes Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is partnering with "SNL" cast member Colin Jost "in a new ad for IZOD's fall/holiday collection." Jost wrote the ad, which "pokes fun at some of the more cliched moments in menswear advertising." Jost serves as the "handsome smarty-pants," while Rodgers makes the "'obligatory MVP cameo' for a backyard pick-up football game with models." This marks the "latest project that shows off Rodgers' comedic timing" (GREENBAYPRESSGAZETTE.com, 9/5).

BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS: Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will be featured on a new box of Wheaties, calling it a "dream come true." He said, "I remember eating Michael Jordan's Wheaties, I remember John Elway, I remember some of the greats and Ken Griffey Jr., a Seattle guy. So, to be on the cover of Wheaties is a tremendous honor and such a blessing." The box will begin appearing on U.S. store shelves in October ("GMA," ABC, 9/4).
