Tom Osborne Says Scott Frost Hire Saved Nebraska's Sellout Streak

Former Nebraska football coach and AD Tom Osborne said that he believes the school's streak of 361 home sellouts -- an NCAA record -- "would have ended" had Scott Frost "not returned to his alma mater" this offseason to coach the football team, according to Chris Low of ESPN.com. Osborne said, "Last year was hard for the people here because we went 4-8. I don't think the stadium would have been sold out. We've been sold out for 50-plus years. I think that streak would have gone had Scott not come back, so there's a significant renewed enthusiasm." Low noted Nebraska has "sold out every home game" at Memorial Stadium since Nov. 3, 1962 (ESPN.com, 8/15). Nebraska AD Bill Moos said that football student tickets "sold out quickly." During an appearance on his monthly radio show on KLIN-AM, Moos said, "There will be a game this year where the student section will make a difference between winning and losing." He also noted that Nebraska has "overhauled concessions areas and restrooms in the North Stadium of Memorial Stadium over the summer and will do the same next summer in the South Stadium" (OMAHA.com, 8/14).
