Audience Analysis: Fox Loads Up For Jr. NBA; Browns-Giants Up For NFLN

The finals of the inaugural Jr. NBA Championship were last weekend, and the most-viewed telecast was Fox’ U.S. Boys’ title game on Saturday night. That game drew 462,000 viewers on Fox. Earlier in the evening, the Int'l Boys’ title game drew 386,000 viewers. READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL: NFL Network averaged 1.93 million viewers for Browns-Giants last Thursday, its first preseason game of the ’18 season. That figure was up 6% from Broncos-Bears in the same window last season. Following Browns-Giants, NFL Net drew 1.51 million viewers for Cowboys-49ers. For the week ending Aug. 12, NFL preseason games accounted for five of the top 10 most-viewed sports telecasts on cable TV.

The 64-match figure of 2.39 million in-home viewers rises to 2.89 million viewers when OOH is factored in. Weekday afternoon matches provided the biggest lift (+30%). Weekday morning numbers for OOH gave a 22% lift, while weekend afternoons provided a 20% boost. The top location for OOH viewing was “someone else’s home” (27.3%), followed by bar/restaurant (25.6%). Another 15.9% of OOH viewers said they were doing so at work.
