Overnight Ratings: NBC EPL Opener Down Slightly From '17

The EPL season began over the weekend, and NBC on Saturday aired Everton-Wolverhampton, drawing a 0.7 overnight rating. Last season, NBC began with Manchester City-Brighton & Hove Albion and drew a 0.8 overnight. The NBC broadcast channel had Rio Olympic coverage two years ago on EPL opening weekend. Three years ago, Swansea-Chelsea on opening weekend drew a 0.9 on NBC.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT: The inaugural Jr. NBA Championship ended yesterday afternoon, with the Boys World title game drawing a 0.4 overnight on Fox. Leading into that matchup, the Girls’ World title game drew a 0.3. The top-rated telecast from the inaugural event was Saturday night on Fox (0.8) for the Boys’ U.S. Championship.
