"Madden" Glitch Has Chargers Still Playing In San Diego

EA Sports' "Madden 19" video game apparently believes the Chargers "still play in San Diego," according to Abby Hamblin of the SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE. One gamer recorded the in-game announcer saying, "EA Sports coverage of the NFL takes us to the Mission Valley area of beautiful San Diego, California." EA Sports "quickly responded" by "calling the reference 'a bug' in the game's commentary." EA Sports' Madden account responded on Twitter yesterday saying, "We'll have this fixed in the game with our next Title Update during the week of August 20th." While the initial bug was from a 49ers-Chargers game, a second clip of from a Raiders-Chargers game proved it "wasn't just a one-off glitch." The error "follows another controversy with the 'Madden 19' game" in which a reference to Colin Kaepernick was edited out of a song on the game's soundtrack (SANDIEGOUNIONTRIBUNE.com, 8/8).
