Envy Gaming Head of Marketing & Revenue and former longtime Octagon exec MARK COUGHLIN, who "worked for a company that sold Apple's early computers, was given about 1,000 initial shares in Apple" in '80 and "earned more" in '81 through an incentive program. When former Apple CEO JOHN SCULLEY ousted STEVE JOBS in '85, Coughlin "sold some shares but kept most of them." When Jobs returned, he "began buying more, adding so much that he estimates about 60% of his net worth is in Apple stock" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 8/3).

EXPENSIVE ACCIDENT: A Frisco man is seeking more than $1M from Cowboys RB EZEKIEL ELLIOTT after the two were in a "car wreck last year that totaled the man's BMW and left him with 'serious, life-altering injuries.'" RONNIE BARNARD HILL "filed the lawsuit Thursday in Collin County district court." An attorney for Elliott on Thursday said that he "expects the player's insurance company to handle the matter" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 8/3).

CELEBRATING A LIFE: A memorial service for late NFLer DWIGHT CLARK was held Wednesday morning at Grace Cathedral in S.F. Clark passed away June 4 from "complications related to ALS." Among public figures in attendance were House Minority Leader NANCY PELOSI and former S.F. Mayors WILLIE BROWN and FRANK JORDAN. 49ers co-Chairs DR. JOHN YORK and DENISE DEBARTOLO YORK and CEO JED YORK were also "on hand." NFL Commissioner ROGER GOODELL "attended, along with" former 49ers President & CEO CARMEN POLICY. The list of notable players and coaches "stretched long," including Pro Football HOFers JERRY RICE, RONNIE LOTT and JOE MONTANA, as well as former 49ers coaches GEORGE SEIFERT and STEVE MARIUCCI and former QB STEVE BONO (S.F. CHRONICLE, 8/2).

NAMES: A new documentary on Packers DT MIKE DANIELS titled "HE WAS ANIME," a 12-minute film from video streaming service Crunchyroll, gives "insight into how Japanese film and television animation has been Daniels' passion since he was a little boy growing up in New Jersey." It also shows how it "powered him through being bullied as a child and how it continues to drive him on the field" (GREENBAYPRESSGAZETTE.com, 8/2)....UFC President DANA WHITE and PRESIDENT TRUMP "met in the Oval Office" on Wednesday. The two have been "friendly for nearly two decades," with White "speaking on [Trump's] behalf" at the '16 RNC (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 8/2)....Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment has been named one of sales publication Selling Power magazine's "50 Best Companies to Sell For" (Harris Blitzer)....WWE's GLENN JACOBS, who wrestles under the name "KANE," "defeated Democratic nominee LINDA HANEY" to become mayor of Knoxville (Knoxville NEWS SENTINEL, 8/3).
