Badain, Bubolz Take Different Paths To Leading Las Vegas Teams

Raiders President MARC BADAIN and Golden Knights President KERRY BUBOLZ have "followed divergent personal paths to Las Vegas, with both major-league team business executives making daily decisions and plotting long-term business strategies that are shaping/will shape the Las Vegas sports landscape for years to come," according to a profile by Alan Snel of LVSPORTSBIZ.com. Badain, who has worked for the Raiders since graduating from Emory Univ. in '92, is a "numbers guy with a schmoozy personality and sense of humor." He is the Raiders’ "buck-stops-here business chief behind balancing operations for an NFL team that is playing in Oakland while planting new roots at the same time in Las Vegas." While Badain is from western New York state, Bubolz has "roots in Oklahoma." Bubolz is a Tulsa native and '89 Oklahoma State graduate who "began his sports marketing and business work where so many do -- minor league baseball in the heartland of America" for the Double-A Texas League Tulsa Drillers and the Single-A Midwest League Quad Cities River Bandits. Like Badain, Bubolz "can schmooze with the best of them." Both Badain and Bubolz are "personable" and have a "good sense of humor." Not only did Badain and Bubolz "arrive in Las Vegas via contrasting routes, the Killer Business Bees lord over very different team cultures and histories" (LVSPORTSBIZ.com, 7/28).
