Under Armour's Adrienne Lofton Reportedly Leaving For Nike

Lofton will be unable to officially begin working at Nike for approximately one year GETTY IMAGES

Under Armour Senior VP/Global Brand Management ADRIENNE LOFTON has "accepted a position with Nike," according to sources cited by Patrick Coffee of ADWEEK. Lofton yesterday reportedly "resigned after approximately nine years and two stints" with Under Armour. Sources said that she "left for an executive-level job" at Nike. The news "comes several months after Nike purged two top marketing executives amid a controversy over repeated complaints about inappropriate behavior in the workplace." Lofton "will be unable to officially begin working at Nike for approximately one year thanks to a non-compete clause in the contract she signed with Under Armour." One source said that Lofton left UA "due to a perceived lack of upward mobility" (ADWEEK.com, 7/30). In Baltimore, Jeff Barker notes with Lofton's departure, Under Armour promoted VP/Global Brand Marketing ATTICA JAQUES to Head of Global Brand Management. Jaques "joined the company" in '16. Lofton's tenure "included helping grow the women's segment of a company that had its roots in football." Lofton "did two stints with Under Armour, the latter beginning" in '15. In between she was a "top marketing executive" for Levi's (BALTIMORE SUN, 7/31).
