Pac-12 Hires Teresa Gould To Fill Senior Associate Commissioner Role

The Pac-12 named UC-Davis interim AD TERESA GOULD Senior Associate Commissioner/Sports Management & Institutional Services, taking over the role of GLORIA NEVAREZ, who was named West Coast Conference Commissioner in March. Gould starts Aug. 6 and will report directly to Pac-12 Commissioner LARRY SCOTT. She will oversee sports administration and championships for all sports outside of football and men’s basketball. Gould also will oversee compliance and serve as the conference’s Senior Woman Administrator. Scott said he was impressed with Gould’s experience in college sports, from working with schools, a conference (she was WCC Associate Commissioner for eight years) and a three-year stint with ESPN. Scott told THE DAILY that Gould was recommended by several people soon after Gould left. Scott, who interviewed three candidates, said Gould was already well known in Pac-12 circles because of her work at Cal. “It’s very unusual that you can hire someone in this position that’s actually been an athletic director,” Scott said. “She’s overqualified for the position, but really loves the conference and wants to stay in the Bay Area."
