Steelers Partnering With Local Amusement Park For Themed Area

The Steelers and Kennywood Park have partnered to "create a 3-acre themed area called 'Steelers Country'" at the Pittsburgh-area amusement park, according to Sean Hamill of the PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE. The Steelers area will include a "4,000-foot, steel roller coaster dubbed the 'Steel Curtain'" that will "replace the park's beloved and now demolished Log Jammer" ride. The Steel Curtain ride will "break a Pennsylvania record as the tallest roller coaster in the state; a North American record, with the most inversions -- at nine; and a world record with the tallest inversion at 197 feet." Kennywood is the "first park to collaborate with a professional sports franchise on not only a themed area of the park, but with a roller coaster" (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 7/20). In Pittsburgh, Stacey Federoff noted the Steelers section of the park will "feature an 'End Zone' cafe, water feature and sports-themed games, along with an indoor 'Steelers Experience' attraction" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/19).
