In Ft. Lauderdale, Brittany Wallman in a front-page piece notes the NHL Panthers are "preparing a proposal to lay ice rinks in the War Memorial Auditorium" at the city's Holiday Park. The city-owned auditorium "could serve as an eastside training rink for the team." Ft. Lauderdale officials said that the proposal would also "include an indoor lacrosse and soccer field for youth." Ft. Lauderdale City Commissioner Heather Moraitis said that the Panthers "want to put two sheets of ice in the auditorium, for indoor hockey youth leagues" (South Florida SUN SENTINEL, 6/27).

IMMACULATE EATING: In Pittsburgh, Mark Belko reported the Steelers are partnering with Pro Football HOFer Franco Harris to "open Franco's Pizzeria, which will be serving food to fans on both game days and non-game days" at the "expanded Bud Light Pub 33 space outside of Heinz Field." The restaurant is part of $2.5M in "renovations that the Steelers are making to the Pub 33 space," which is "located next to the team's new Hall of Honor" (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 6/26).

EVENT PLANNERS: In Jacksonville, Junior Skepple noted the Jaguars and sister company Bold Events "recently announced a new partnership with Oak View Group Facilities to support expanded event programming at TIAA Bank Field," making it the "first NFL stadium in the OVG portfolio of clients." OVG Facilities will "focus on attracting national touring concerts, festivals and one-of-a-kind, stand-alone events to expand the entertainment schedule" at TIAA Bank Field year-round (BIZJOURNALS.com, 6/25).
