NFL Tabs Jocelyn Moore To Replace Joe Lockhart As Head Of PR

The NFL promoted Senior VP/Public Policy & Government Affairs JOCELYN MOORE to Exec VP/Communications & Public Affairs. Moore, who was previously based in DC, will work out of the league's N.Y. HQ and report to NFL COO MARYANN TURCKE. Moore joined the NFL in '16 and led the league's public policy and legislative agenda (NFL). PRO FOOTBALL TALK's Michael David Smith noted the NFL has been looking to fill the position since JOE LOCKHART "announced he was leaving in January, and now the league has found Lockhart’s replacement within its own office." Like Lockhart, Moore has a "political background, having previously worked for two U.S. senators." In addition to "reporting to Lockhart at the league office, Moore previously worked for Lockhart at a DC lobbying firm." As the NFL’s national anthem policy "continues to make political waves, the league will have to navigate the criticism it is sure to take" (PROFOOTBALLTALK.com, 6/25). Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman noted Moore is the "first African-American to head NFL PR" (TWITTER.com, 6/25).
