Comcast Signs Olympic Champion Lamoureux Twins As Ambassadors

Comcast has signed Gold Medal-winning U.S. hockey players Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux-Morando as ambassadors for its corporate values initiative, making the twins the face of its programs to encourage volunteerism, internet access expansion, digital literacy and diversity/inclusion. It will also serve a key business goal of both sides -- keeping the Team USA Olympics brand and the names of two of Team USA’s heroes from the Pyeongchang Games in the public eye during the long break before the '22 Beijing Games. Comcast owns the media rights to the Olympics through '32 and sponsors the USOC. “One of the nicest things about this partnership is we’re going to have a long-term capacity to keep these two Olympic gold medal athletes in the public eye and the public spotlight in a comfortable way, and in a positive way, that will also provide great brand equity for the Olympics themselves,” said Comcast Senior Exec VP & Chief Diversity Officer David Cohen. The contract, for which financial terms were not disclosed, includes 20-25 days of appearances annually for the Lamoureuxs. They were both part of Comcast’s roster of Olympians during Pyeongchang, but this is a separate relationship. Lamoureux-Morando said: “We’re doing events based around giving back to the community, and making a difference, and that’s something Jocelyn and I love to do, and would much rather be doing when spending our time with companies." The partnership began with them joining the “Know Your Value” platform, a women-focused NBC News digital media site founded by MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski. The twins had been represented by American Group Management during Pyeongchang, but are now represented by Dan Levy at Wasserman. They signed the deal with Comcast while they were between agents.
