Franchise Notes

Jaguars President Mark Lamping said that coming off the team’s "deep run in the playoffs, the team is experiencing such strong demand from fans in the off-season that it will increase the price for most season tickets on July 1." Lamping said that more than 90% of season ticket-holders have "renewed for the upcoming season and the team has sold more than 10,000 new season tickets." He added that the team’s annual home game in London "remains crucial for the franchise," and Jaguars Owner Shad Khan would "like to play a second game in London in a future season if it could be done through back-to-back games." Lamping emphasized that if the Jaguars "played a second London game, it would be for one of the team’s road games" (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 6/9).

TOUGH POSITION: In Philadelphia, Mike Sielski wrote part of the problem 76ers co-Owner Josh Harris has created for himself since taking over the team is a "matter of image, of appearance." As of July, Harris will have "owned the Sixers for seven years, and their next general manager/director of basketball ops will be their fifth." Harris oversees "one of the most volatile executive positions in the NBA." As "enticing as the opening might be for a prospective GM candidate," whoever "pursues and/or gets the job has to recognize that Harris’ talk of stability and continuity has been little more than lip service so far" (PHILLY.com, 6/8).

TROUBLED TIMES: ESPN.com's Rich Cimini noted the NFL Jets this offseason have "tempered the feel-good vibe with a spate of player arrests." Continuing an "alarming trend" that began in '17, the Jets' "arrest total in the past 18 months is up to eight -- the most in the NFL." The two most recent players arrested -- TE Chris Herndon and LB Dylan Donahue -- were "involved in alleged drunken driving that resulted in crashes with other vehicles" (ESPN.com, 6/10).
