People & Personalities: Fox Adds Kristina Pink To "TNF" Broadcast

Pink will likely only work with Buck and Aikman on Fox' No. 1 team on Thursdaysgetty images

In N.Y., Andrew Marchand cites sources as saying that Fox will add sideline reporter Kristina Pink on its "TNF" package as the net "attempts to make Thursday Night an even bigger event." Erin Andrews, who has worked for several years with with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on Fox' No. 1 team, is "expected to join Pink on the sidelines." Pink is "likely only going to work with the top crew on Thursdays." Last year, she "worked on Fox Sports' third team" with Kenny Albert and Ronde Barber (N.Y. POST, 6/7).

IN THE FUTURE: Panthers TE Greg Olsen said of his talks with ESPN for a potential spot on “MNF," "Those discussions became somewhat tangible. I came up to Bristol and spent the day up there." He added, "I got to spend the day with Joe Tessitore and the production staff ... and go through the ropes. For me, it was a great learning experience. I don’t have a ton of experience, I did that Fox game last year during my bye week and that was my first ever exposure to being a game analyst and color commentary, so the opportunity to have another dry run at it behind closed doors for a network like ESPN was a great opportunity. We had discussions with some of the other job openings with other networks that were available, but when it came down to it, I didn't feel like it was my time to walk away quite yet." However, Olsen did say it was "something I would like to do" (“Golic & Wingo,” ESPN radio, 6/7).

NOT SO SURE RIGHT NOW: In Toronto, Kevin McGran reports longtime "Hockey Night in Canada" announcer Bob Cole "isn't sure" he wants to return to Sportsnet next season, despite network President Scott Moore having "expressed an interest" in bringing him back for "special occasions." Cole: "They said to me: Come and do a game. I don't know. I don't think I'm interested." He said that he understood the net's decision not to use him during the postseason because Sportsnet has "amassed a great deal of play-by-play talent." Cole: "They have a tough job choosing, they have so many guys now. Can't please everybody. Unfortunately, I was the guy out" (TORONTO STAR, 6/7).

NOTES: Danielle Trotta has joined NBC Sports Boston, where she will primarily co-host the nightly studio show "Boston Sports Tonight." Trotta most recently covered NASCAR for SiriusXM and FS1 (NBC Sports Boston)....Longtime DC sportscaster Chick Hernandez will "leave NBC Sports Washington at the end of the week after a 17-year run with the network." Hernandez' contract was "expiring and was not renewed." He "most recently hosted" Redskins-related content (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 6/5).
